Gladstonebury 2012

Gladstonebury

June 29th – July 1st- Gladstonebury

The Gladstone
Lewes Road
Brighton

3 Day Free festival from Friday 29th June - Sunday 1st July. No tents needed you just simply go home at night and come back to the pub again in the morning. No wellies needed! With this years absence of Gladstonebury's inferior cousin, we've been inundated with desperate voicemails from the likes of U2, Coldplay and Jay-Z looking for somewhere to peddle their wares ;). Unfortunately, those acts don't have the minerals for the big yellow pub on Lewes Road. Here at The Gladstone, we like it homegrown, so for your enjoyment, we've sourced some of the finest music that our fair city has to offer. Festivities kick off on Friday 29th with Stick It On; a democratic Dj experience where you, the people, have your say in what gets played. Just e-mail your favourite tunes to… http://www.stickiton.org.uk/ On Saturday and Sunday your ears will be defiled by the likes of local legends Tragic Roundabout, The Detonators and The Duvettes (who includes members of Los Albertos). Buffo's Wake and DR Bluegrass and The Illbilly 8 will be bringing the hoedown with there Blue Grass influences, while Kingbracket and Ilodica will be providing you with live melodica and reggae set. Other acts include London based folk group Barbarella and the Band, up and coming Brighton boys Wolflung, hip-hop soul singer Kimberley Newell (collaborator with Mr Avacado and Leaf Dog) and DJ sets from Arthur Shillin, Legi, Bozak and Dirt Bomb who will provide us with Funk, Soul, Breaks, Swing, and slowly decent into a mash of DnB and Electro on Sat Night. The Whole event is free with donations welcome! We will also have a selection of arts and fashion stalls and some fun activities if everything doesn't cover it for you!! See you there
